Typically at the initial meeting together we will establish the parameters for what is to be done and the time frame. We will then do some additional work to design a solution and estimate the effort, cost and timetable. Typically we work by building and refining a prototype of the application. Often the prototype grows into the actual application. Experience has taught us that this is the quickest and least expensive way to create applications.  

That's ok we can analyse and recommend an approach.

We will take into account not only IT considerations but also the cost benefit to the organisation and the payback of making the investment. Sometimes reviewing and analysing your business can have unexpected benefits. For example we recently saved a client 50% on their delivery costs by changing the size of their packaging.

We have a lot of experience in interfacing to existing databases and systems. It is often better to leave an existing system in place (unless there are good reasons not to) and blend it with a new system or extensions. This reduces the time taken and the cost of creating a solution. Interfacing to MS Office and databases is a speciality for us.

Our programming services start from $A 80 per hour and our Analysis and Design Services from $A 120 per hour.
If an accurate specification exists we can also provide a fixed price quote.

For smaller projects we usually follow a 5 step methodology

ANALYSE    DESIGN    DEVELOP    TEST   TRAIN & DOCUMENT

 although sometime we only need to do one or two of these steps.

Our larger projects are based on the TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Foundation) - Architecture Development Method (ADM) approach. This is a proven standard for developing and maintaining software systems. we also use Agile and prototyping practices to speed delivery and reduce costs. The approach is always tailoured to the taks at hand.
